Vince Rongione is the proud son of two teachers and the product of local public schools. Raised on Darby Road in Havertown he learned early the value of education and importance of hard work and public service.
Vince’s grandfather, a union organizer, was the first Rongione born in the United States. Born in South Philadelphia, he moved the Rongione family to Upper Darby after serving in the army in World War II. Vince’s father, a graduate of St. Alice’s, Monsignor Bonner, and Villanova University, was elected to three terms on the Haverford School Board and Vince’s mother was an active Girl Scout leader while Vince was growing up.
It is this family commitment to public service that led Vince to seek public office. Vince is dedicated to fighting for our community, including investment in our schools, our local economy, our infrastructure, and all of our citizens.
Rongione graduated from Haverford High School and went on to attend Villanova University and the Villanova School of Law. After working for a few years as an attorney, Rongione joined Admiral Joe Sestak’s first run for Congress, where he worked his way up to Deputy Campaign Manager for Finance. Since that time, Rongione has worked for State Representative Bryan Lentz and served on Capitol Hill as Communications Director to Congressman Chris Carney, where he worked on the groundbreaking Wall Street reform legislation following the financial crisis and legislation to help families stay in their homes after the mortgage crisis.
Vince, now an attorney, lives in Drexel Hill. He is a proud uncle and godparent to five nieces and nephews. Vince is engaged to Skye Nickalls, a graduate of New York University and Yale Law School.
